Hamilton's Accomplishments

Hamilton is the definition of a self-made man. He was born into poverty with little chance of becoming a great man but he overcame these limitations to become an important figure and history. He rose up out poverty with his great work ethic, getting his first job at 11, and traveling to American to get an education at 16. This in itself is a great feat, but after his rise from poverty he also went on to do many other important things in his life.
Hamilton had a decorated military career. He fought in the New York militia as the revolution began and quickly rose up in the ranks to become George Washington's trusted adviser. Hamilton believed america should not be ruled by Britain and was willing to fight for independence. I think this an admirable quality and shows he was willing to give his life for what he believed in.
What stands out the most about Hamilton's accomplishments is his influential political career. He played a major role in the ratification of the constitution which set up the system of government we still use today. Hamilton should be remembered for this because without him the United States may have not become the strong and powerful nation it is today. He served as the United States' first Secretary of the Treasury, where he paid off the debt from the revolution and solidified the economy. This was a great accomplishment because it strengthened the United States and gave the nation enough economic power to survive its early years as a country and eventually become more powerful.
