Alexander Hamilton is one of the most significant figures in American history. He had a great influence of over the founding and the early government of the United Sates. Hamilton fought during the revolution and demonstrated his leadership as he quickly rose up through the ranks. In the military, Hamilton made some powerful allies which helped him latter in his career.
After the war Hamilton became a successful lawyer which ultimately led to his involvement in politics. As a long time proponent of a strong central government, Hamilton was integral in the ratification of the Constitution. He later became the first Secretary of the Treasury, where he served for six years. Hamilton died at the hands of Aaron Burr, when he was shot by Burr in a duel.
